Johnson Realty is not just another St. Louis real estate company. Our hybrid approach to selling homes combines the best of Discount Brokerages and Full Commission Agents with the freedom of a for sale by owner. At Johnson Realty, we realize that most buyers do all of their home searching on-line, then jump in their cars to see the houses they like. After finding a house they like, they usually call the agent to schedule a showing and make an offer.

When Mike and Cheryl Johnson decided to put their first home on the market in 2004 while living in Atlanta, they couldn't possibly justify paying an agent 6% to basically put it on the MLS, so they hired Duffy Realty of Atlanta to put their home on the MLS for $500 and then pay them 1/3% commission to negotiate the contract and handle all the paperwork. While Rhonda Duffy was doing the listing from the living room, they realized right there, that her idea was going to change the way people bought and sold houses, and we wanted in. At the time, Cheryl just took a new job working at a real estate investment firm, and Mike was busy racing all over the country so there was no time to start something new. They ended up selling their home on their own saving over $10,000 in commissions.

Fast forward to 2005, Cheryl and Mike were now a family of three, with Connor who was born in February. Mike was now busier than ever trying to manage a race team in California, and Cheryl was stretched to the limit trying to care for a new born, and maintain her clients. On a spring evening, two worn out parents decided to pack up their belongings and move home to Missouri where Mike grew up. They called Rhonda Duffy again to have her list their current house, but this time they were ready to start their own real estate brokerage in St. Louis and entered a partnership with Duffy Realty and the Rainmaker Realty Network. They sold their second house with Duffy Realty saving over $12,000, and used the savings to start Johnson Realty of St. Louis.

Their first house was listed in November of 2005, and now Johnson Realty has sold over many millions of dollars worth of homes and they have saved each seller thousands...and now they want to help you save, too! See some of our recent successes!

Cheryl Johnson

Cheryl is a broker in four states and sold over 200 homes in her first year for a real estate investment company. She has worked in public relations with several teams and sponsors in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Series, the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2000 Tour de France winning United States Postal Service Pro Cycling Team.

Mike Johnson

Mike was born and raised in St. Louis and graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO with a B.A. in Business Administration.  During the spring of 1995, he learned how to relate with people and attract exposure as a housemate on MTV's "The Real World, IV" which was filmed in London. After college he started Archangel Motorsports in Atlanta, GA and led his teams to 4 Grand American Championships as well as class victories in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hueres du Mans.  The SPEED Channel has also hired Mike off and on over the last few years to commentate from Pit Lane for the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and the SCCA National Championships.  Now Mike has his Missouri Real Estate License and handles the accounting, marketing, and business development for Johnson Realty when he is not driving a race car, managing a team, or commentating on SPEED.
